As consultants on the MIRA ‘Migrants’ Rights & Advocacy’ project, YAZCONSULT took part in the project’s third roundtable on “Conflict Resolutions: Right to Legal Representation and Fair Trials”.
YAZCONSULT’s lawyer Elie Rizk offered the firm’s breakthrough suggestion with regards to migrant workers’ judicial representation; YAZCONSULT’s suggestion is to have a mandatory representative of the migrant workers at all levels of the investigation and trial – representatives appointed by the government and dedicated to such representation. Without their presence, all interrogations and trials would be void.
This suggestion helps guarantee the rights of migrant workers and their legal wellbeing.
